Aqara Hub M2
🔌 Central Smart Home Controller
- Acts as a hub for Aqara Zigbee 3.0 devices (supports up to ~128 devices when paired with repeaters).
- Enables automation and scenes for sensors, lights, plugs, switches, and more.
🌐 Connectivity Options
- Connects via Wi‑Fi (2.4 GHz) or Ethernet (RJ‑45) for stable network performance.
- Supports Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for future device support.
📡 360° Infrared Blaster
- Built‑in infrared (IR) transmitter lets you control older devices that rely on IR remotes — such as TVs, air conditioners, or fans — through the Aqara Home app or automations.
📣 Built‑in Speaker
- Functions as an alert/siren or doorbell sound source in automation scenarios.
🤖 Local Automation
- Most automations and device interactions can run locally (without internet), improving reliability and speed.
📱 Voice & Ecosystem Compatibility
- Works with Apple HomeKit, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and other platforms through Aqara and third‑party integrations.
📍 Matter Compatibility (Bridge)
- Via a firmware update, the hub can act as a Matter bridge, exposing Zigbee devices to Matter‑compatible ecosystems like Google Home or HomeKit, expanding cross‑platform use.
Note: The M2 is a Matter bridge (it exposes Zigbee devices over Matter) but doesn’t act as a full Matter controller — so you can’t directly pair native Matter devices to it like with higher‑end hubs.
